The next billion users are coming online on other people's terms. I design so they can stay on their own.
UX and product designer. I run the whole loop end to end: research, strategy, interaction design, testing, design systems and measurement. At myAgro I design for village sales agents and farmers with low literacy and basic phones, and for field coordinators, call centre agents and internal teams who work digitally every day. I pair behavioural design and gamification with a background in public health research, and I use AI to go from insight to a tested prototype in days, not weeks.

the roses & the score
watu wako: an honest score for Nairobi's social events
My own product, as founder and designer. watu wako lists events widely and scores a few honestly. Every scored event gets a number from 1.0 to 5.0, and the best earn roses, from one rose at 3.0 up to five at 5.0. I designed the scoring rubric, the rose and score badge as a design system component, the brand, and the app, website and review desk. Pitched at LvlUp Pitch Week in September 2026.

Basic phones, patchy networks, more than one language, reading that varies. I treat those as the brief, not the problem. Whether I start from an idea or fix something live, the loop is the same.

Who is this for, and what gets in their way?
Interviews, field visits, survey and product data, and a look at what already exists. Often a workshop first, so the team agrees on the problem.

A designer who builds with AI. I use AI to go from insight to a prototype people can test in days, not weeks, and to build my own test tooling. The time it saves goes into what still needs a person: sitting with users and deciding what matters.

Before we start
Can't we just use AI to design it?
AI can draw screens. It cannot watch someone use your product and see where they give up. I use AI to make faster, so more of the time goes into the part it cannot do: understanding people and deciding what matters.
What kinds of products do you work on?
Mobile apps, web platforms and websites: field tools for sales agents, a coaching app, an events product of my own, a bookstore and a non profit's site. The common thread is people who are often designed for last.
We already have a product. Can you help improve it?
Yes. The 1 week UX audit finds where people get stuck and gives you a prioritised list of fixes. The 2 week sprint then redesigns and tests the flow that matters most.
Do you actually talk to users?
On every project. Interviews, usability tests and feedback from real use shape the work, and I test with the people who will use the product, not only with the team.
Can you help us start something new?
Yes. I have built my own product from the first idea, so I can help you work out who it is for, what to build first and what can wait, then design and test it before development gets expensive.
Do you work with teams outside Kenya?
Yes. I work remotely from Nairobi (EAT, UTC+3) with teams in West Africa, Europe and the US.
Let's make something people can actually use.
Open to contract work now, remote from Nairobi. Tell me about your product and the people who use it.
